Committee Backs Fourth-Generation Resident's Vision for Village's Future

ELMSFORD, NY (December 19, 2024) — The Elmsford Democratic Village Committee has officially endorsed Matt Evans for Mayor of Elmsford. Evans, a fourth-generation Elmsfordian and current Village Trustee, is seeking the Democratic nomination for Mayor in the March 2025 election.

"Matt Evans represents the kind of forward-thinking leadership our village needs right now," said Lloyd Richards Jr., Chairperson of the Elmsford Democratic Village Committee. "Throughout his interview with our committee, he demonstrated not just a clear understanding of the challenges we face, but practical, innovative solutions to address them. His vision for Elmsford's future is both ambitious and achievable."

The committee's endorsement comes after reviewing Evans' accomplishments as Village Trustee, his demonstrated commitment to transparent governance, and his vision for uniting the community while embracing progress.

"I am deeply honored to be the first candidate to ever receive the endorsement of the Elmsford Democratic Village Committee," said Matt Evans, candidate for Mayor of Elmsford. "Our village stands at a crucial moment of opportunity. With proper planning and thoughtful leadership, we can preserve what makes Elmsford special while building a stronger, more vibrant community for future generations."

Richards added, "What stands out about Matt is his proven ability to bring people together to get things done. From his time on the Board of Education to his current role as Village Trustee, he has consistently shown that he can turn good ideas into real results. That's exactly the kind of mayor Elmsford needs."

The Democratic nominating caucus will be held in January 2025, followed by the mayoral election on March 18, 2025.
